Japan Adds Garantex to Russia Sanctions List

Japan announced sanctions targeting Garantex and 32 other entities, restricting payments and capital transactions involving the listed parties as part of a new package of measures against Russia.

The announcement came Oct. 2 and also named nine individuals. Japan’s measures restrict services and financing connected to 35 vessels identified as part of Russia’s “shadow fleet.”
