Trump Disclosed Up to $25 Million Meta Purchase, SpaceX Debt in August
Trump’s financial disclosure lists 517 August transactions, including a SpaceX note purchase carrying 5.35% interest and maturing in July 2031.

President Donald Trump disclosed 517 August securities transactions, including up to $25 million in Meta shares and as much as $5 million in SpaceX debt, days before a new space policy.
The largest transaction was an Aug. 21 purchase of Meta Platforms stock valued between $5 million and $25 million. Trump’s accounts also bought between $1 million and $5 million each in AT&T, ConocoPhillips, Abbott Laboratories, Netflix and Chevron that day.
The filing lists a separate SpaceX investment on Aug. 18, when the accounts purchased between $1 million and $5 million in senior unsecured notes issued by the rocket and satellite company. The notes carry a 5.35% interest rate and mature in July 2031.
Trump signed a national space transportation policy on Aug. 20. The policy sets a target of more than 1,000 annual launches and reentries by 2030 while seeking wider use of federal launch sites and more public and private funding for space infrastructure.
SpaceX is a major Pentagon contractor and NASA launch provider. Trump’s accounts previously disclosed SpaceX share purchases valued between $15,001 and $50,000 each in June and July, along with a July sale valued between $1,001 and $15,000.
The August transactions had an estimated combined value of roughly $74.3 million to $273.3 million because the filing reports each transaction within a dollar range rather than giving exact amounts. Purchases totaled at least $44.2 million, while sales totaled at least $30.1 million.
Trading activity slowed from June and July, when Trump disclosed more than 1,000 transactions in each month. The August filing also followed earlier disclosures involving crypto-linked companies including Strategy and Coinbase, detailed in Trump’s July Strategy and Coinbase trades.
