Stake Brazil has resumed access to its local betting site after a São Paulo federal court temporarily preserved its authorization, creating a limited exception to Brazil’s nationwide betting shutdown.

Federal Judge Cristiane Farias Rodrigues dos Santos of São Paulo’s 9th Federal Civil Court issued the partial injunction Oct. 8. The order prevents authorities from blocking or redirecting stake.bet.br solely because the operator’s authorization was set to end early.

The protection lasts through Oct. 25, 2026, or until an earlier court order. The judge rejected Stake’s request to suspend Brazil’s betting restrictions and continue operating through Dec. 31, 2029.

Stake must keep withdrawals available and maintain identity checks, age verification, anti-money-laundering measures and responsible-gambling controls. The order also prohibits promotions, bonuses and campaigns designed to attract new users.

“To our knowledge, we are the first licensed operator to get a decision of this kind,” Stake Brazil said.

Brazil’s Provisional Measure 1,394/2026 required betting sites to go offline after 10 days and ended existing authorizations after 30 days. The court’s ruling addresses enforcement against Stake Brazil and does not invalidate the broader measure.
