India’s Finance Ministry and Singapore’s Monetary Authority discussed tokenization and regulatory challenges on Oct. 10, focusing on interoperability and trusted settlement for emerging digital-asset ecosystems.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met with Leong Sing Chiong, the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Deputy Managing Director, for talks on digital assets and tokenization.
The discussions examined how tokenization could improve efficiency while creating regulatory challenges for developing digital-asset ecosystems. Singapore officials presented the Monetary Authority’s approach to tokenization during the meeting.
Both sides also addressed interoperability and trusted settlement arrangements, identifying them as important elements in implementing tokenization strategies.
