Iranian Military Official Rejects Partial U.S. Concessions on Peace Terms
Mohsen Rezaei demanded full acceptance of Tehran’s conditions, including changes involving the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions and Iran’s nuclear program.

Iranian military official Mohsen Rezaei rejected partial U.S. concessions Monday and demanded full acceptance of Tehran’s conditions for ending the conflict.
Iran said Monday it was reviewing a U.S. offer described as including limited concessions. Rezaei said incremental steps would not satisfy Iran and declared that “Iranian diplomacy has changed” with no return to the previous status quo.
Negotiations remain focused on the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear program. Tehran has said it will not reduce uranium enrichment or discuss the issue with Washington until the conflict ends through a negotiated agreement. The Trump administration has treated the nuclear issue as a major upfront demand in negotiations.
Iran’s conditions include lifting the maritime blockade, ending sanctions on Iranian oil exports, restoring frozen Iranian assets and ending U.S. military actions. The demands also include ending the war on Iran and its regional allies, withdrawing U.S. forces from areas near Iran’s borders, compensating Iran for war damage and avoiding interference with its nuclear and missile capabilities.
Rezaei said Iran had taken control of the Strait of Hormuz and disrupted smuggling operations. In a post on X, he referred to President Donald Trump and wrote, “Now, after the U.S. fleet failed to reopen the Hormuz, he has resorted to smuggling,” adding that “the U.S. military has never sunk to such a disgraceful low!”
The comments follow Trump’s rejection of Iran’s proposal while keeping talks open. The two sides remain divided over the conditions for reopening the waterway and resolving the nuclear dispute.
