A7 International has announced a service that would convert Tether’s USDT into payments sent through the SWIFT banking network, raising sanctions-compliance concerns around crypto-based transfers.

The service advertises a 0.3% fee and payouts in four currencies. A7 International’s public materials do not identify the banks that would execute the transfers, leaving the banking channels behind the service unspecified.

The announcement places a sanctioned entity at the center of a proposed bridge between a dollar-pegged cryptocurrency and traditional bank payments. That structure could create challenges for financial institutions assessing whether transactions comply with sanctions and other payment controls.

The service’s announcement does not establish that the transfers have been completed or identify the participating banks.
