Indonesia’s financial regulator is urging young people to learn how real-world assets are tokenized, with an emphasis on legal awareness and consumer protection as digital finance develops.

The Financial Services Authority of Indonesia, known as OJK, is highlighting both the opportunities and risks linked to converting tangible assets into digital tokens traded on blockchain networks.

The regulator’s guidance focuses on helping young people understand how tokenized assets work before participating in the market. It also stresses the importance of checking whether activities are legal and how consumers are protected.

Real-world assets are physical or traditional financial assets represented digitally on a blockchain. Tokenization can make those assets available through digital platforms, but participation still involves regulatory and security considerations.

OJK’s education push is aimed at building a more informed generation of digital-finance users. The regulator oversees Indonesia’s financial markets and is responsible for monitoring developments in the country’s expanding digital-finance sector.
