A dollar-settled perpetual futures contract tied to Sei (SEI) recorded two trades on a CFTC-registered U.S. derivatives exchange on Oct. 16, offering a regulated route to token exposure while showing only limited activity.

Both transactions met the 100-contract minimum. Each contract represents one SEI, so the trades covered 200 tokens in total and had a combined notional value of about $13.17. The first traded at $0.06585 per SEI at 4:54:18 a.m. ET (08:54:18 UTC), and the second at $0.06580 at 4:54:27 a.m. ET (08:54:27 UTC).

The two executions confirm that trading had begun by Oct. 16, but one day of two transactions does not establish sustained volume, open interest or broad demand.

North American Derivatives Exchange Inc., which operates as OG.com Markets, filed the contract under CFTC Regulation 40.2(a) on Oct. 8. The contract carries a Certified status in the CFTC product register. Under this route, the exchange submits a product certification; the filing is not an approval order issued after the agency reviews a contract.

That process differs from the path for Kalshi’s Bitcoin (BTC) perpetual futures contract, which the CFTC approved under Regulation 40.3 on May 29, 2026, after review. The SEI contract was certified by the exchange, while Kalshi’s contract received an agency approval order.

The SEI product has no expiration date and settles in U.S. dollars. It tracks the CF Sei-Dollar Spot Rate, with cash funding adjustments calculated in eight-hour intervals to help keep the contract price aligned with the index. Long holders pay short holders when the contract trades above the reference rate; when it trades below, short holders pay longs. These transfers link a contract without a scheduled expiry to its reference price.

The broader lineup includes perpetual contracts tied to Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), HYPE and Zcash (ZEC), as well as SEI. The product group is designed for round-the-clock trading and twice-daily settlement, with risk-based margin requirements ranging from 15% to 30%; a SEI-specific margin rate is not stated.

Trading in the SEI contract is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, subject to exchange halts. Customers can access the margined contract through a futures commission merchant registered with the CFTC, or through an introducing broker that works with one.
