Bitget Adds Russia and Belarus to Its Prohibited Jurisdiction List

Kazakhstan was already listed, and the updated terms do not newly bar users in the United States or its territories.

Bitget’s updated terms add Russia and Belarus to its prohibited-jurisdiction list, with account-specific withdrawal notices for some users and no new restriction for U.S. users.

The Oct. 16 Terms of Use also list Kazakhstan, but it appeared in an earlier version. Russia and Belarus are the additions.

On Oct. 17, Bitget announced that certain users would receive individual instructions by email, in-app message or push notification. The notices will include next steps, deadlines and withdrawal arrangements. The announced change does not affect accounts whose users receive no official notice.

Bitget has not publicly disclosed how many accounts are affected, how users were selected or why the restrictions changed. The company also has not published one deadline for all affected accounts.

The United States and its territories were already on the prohibited list. The policy covers people who live in, are established in or operate in a prohibited jurisdiction.
