Iran's IRGC Warns Limited U.S. Strike Could Trigger Global Energy Crisis
The Pentagon has directed U.S. Central Command to prepare for possible renewed strikes.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned Monday that even a limited U.S. attack could trigger a global energy crisis, adding to concerns over Middle East energy shipments as Washington considers renewed strikes.
IRGC spokesman Brig. Gen. Hossein Mohebbi said Iran was prepared to respond more forcefully to another U.S. attack. He also claimed U.S. forces lacked the capacity to start another conflict, while suggesting Washington might seek gains as the midterm elections approach.
President Donald Trump has told advisers he expects U.S. bombing operations against Iran could resume after the elections. The Pentagon has directed U.S. Central Command to prepare for possible renewed strikes.
The warning follows Trump's rejection of a proposed seven-day ceasefire. Under that proposal, Iran would have reopened the Strait of Hormuz and restarted nuclear talks if the United States lifted its maritime blockade of Iranian ports. The conflict has already restricted energy shipments from the Middle East.
