A Bitcoin (BTC) address identified in a New York ownership dispute sent 411.45 BTC worth about $33.4 million on Oct. 18 after more than 13 years without an outgoing transfer.

The transaction was confirmed at about 2:23 p.m. ET (18:23 UTC) in block 972,036. The address, which begins 13Coop, moved coins from two long-held outputs to one unidentified address. It had made no outgoing transfer since Sept. 11, 2013, when it received its main balance.

Noah Doe and two Wyoming companies asked a New York court in a May 1 amended complaint to declare them owners of 39,069 wallets they allege were abandoned. The amended complaint says the plaintiffs dropped 424 addresses from their initial group after activity on the blockchain suggested those wallets remained controlled.

The Oct. 18 spend shows that someone could authorize a transfer from the 13Coop address after years of inactivity. The transaction does not identify that person, establish who owns the coins or show whether they were sold. It does not settle ownership of the other wallets in the case.
