Revolut has obtained a Gibraltar license for crypto order handling, custody and staking, giving its local subsidiary permission to provide three distinct virtual-asset services under the territory’s digital ledger framework.

Revolut Global Digital Assets Limited (RGDAL) received a Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Provider license from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC), the territory’s financial regulator. Revolut announced the approval Oct. 19. The company was incorporated in Gibraltar on June 27, 2024.

The authorization covers transmitting and executing virtual-asset orders, alongside custody and staking. Those permissions are attached to RGDAL, not described as a groupwide approval for every Revolut business. Together, the three activities give the subsidiary permission to handle orders, provide custody and offer staking services.

The approval does not name initial markets, supported assets or staking arrangements, and it sets no launch date, fee schedule or customer eligibility rules. The license establishes which services the Gibraltar entity is authorized to provide, but does not say when or where customers can use them.
