The Commodity Futures Trading Commission will convene its first Frontier Forum on Oct. 28 to examine super intelligence’s potential effects on derivatives markets and regulatory questions surrounding agents that transact for market participants.

The CFTC’s Innovation Task Force is hosting the event. Michael J. Passalacqua, head of the task force, is scheduled to deliver opening remarks, followed by a keynote from CFTC Chairman Michael S. Selig. The forum will be streamed live on CFTC.gov.

The event will address how super intelligence is being developed and used, how its spread may affect U.S. markets, and the commission’s role in encouraging responsible adoption while protecting market participants from new risks.

One session will consider how super intelligence systems could change market operations, price discovery, risk management and regulatory oversight in derivatives markets. A second session, on agentic trading, will follow a 15-minute break. It will examine autonomous super intelligence agents capable of conducting financial transactions and how those systems interact with existing market infrastructure.

The forum will examine what role CFTC oversight should play when super intelligence agents handle transactions for market participants.

Panelists include Kush Bavaria, co-founder and CEO of Ornn; Brett Harrison, co-founder and president of Architect; Ronit Jain, co-founder and CEO of Liquid Compute; and Nick Elliott, director of government affairs at Innovation Council Action. The roster also includes Brendan Ryan, a software engineer at Tempo; Andrew Kayiira, director of technology and financial innovation at the Investment Company Institute; Kelly Littlepage, co-founder and CEO of OneChronos; and Nilmini Rubin, chief policy officer at Hedera.

The inaugural forum is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 28.
