Citadel CEO Ken Griffin criticized the tax cuts President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans pursued in 2025, saying U.S. debt leaves no fiscal room to extend them.

Griffin put the national debt above $40 trillion. He called the additional cuts a mistake and said Republicans bore responsibility for pursuing tax reductions over the past two years. Griffin is a major Republican donor.

He argued that stronger economic growth in the United States was the way to address the country's fiscal problems. Separately, he urged Europe to pursue growth and described a tariff war with the region as a disaster.
