Nine crypto platforms have voluntarily restricted access to their apps in Kazakhstan, while the country’s financial-center regulator plans to send Apple and Google court orders covering Coinbase and five others.

The Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA), regulator of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), withdrew its claims against the nine after they restricted their apps through Google Play and the Apple App Store. Another seven platforms intend to seek AFSA licenses to operate digital-asset trading facilities.

The court injunctions still cover BingX, Bitcoin.com, Huobi Global (HTX), BitMart, Coinbase and WEEX. A Sept. 15 judgment also named LBank, but the court removed it Sept. 18 after its operator blocked access to its services in Kazakhstan. The six remaining operators cannot offer or market unlicensed digital-asset services in the AIFC or to users there, including through mobile apps.

Apple and Google become bound by the orders when served. AFSA plans to send the orders to the operators of Google Play and the Apple App Store.
