President Donald Trump plans to use a White House cybercrime event on Oct. 22 to highlight U.S. enforcement actions against overseas crypto scam groups and the assets intercepted in those cases.

Federal authorities have intercepted about $833 million in cryptocurrency linked to overseas scams. The effort also resulted in the seizure of 503 fraudulent crypto websites and notifications to nearly 9,000 Americans who were scammed. Those figures capture three parts of the campaign: crypto assets, websites and people contacted.

The targets were transnational criminal groups active in Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and the Philippines. The scams included pig-butchering schemes, phishing and ransomware, linking the enforcement focus to several forms of online fraud across four countries.

The event will place the reported asset total alongside two operational measures: fraudulent websites seized and U.S. residents notified. Trump plans to highlight the actions at the White House on Oct. 22.
