The UAE Ministry of Interior announced Thursday, Oct. 22, that Operation Confrontation Ghost identified more than $39 billion in funds and cryptocurrency linked to scam activity and resulted in more than 960 arrests.

The UAE-led operation involved 30 countries and technology companies and included raids on 29 fraud centers. Participating countries are working to recover the identified assets, but no recovered total was provided. The $39 billion figure counts assets identified, not money returned to victims or cryptocurrency held from movement.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Scam Center Strike Force’s cryptocurrency under restraint tally stood at $938.46 million on Oct. 15. That measure covers cryptocurrency held back from movement in a separate U.S. enforcement effort. It covers crypto only, while the UAE operation’s figure includes funds and cryptocurrency identified in connection with scam activity.

Launched in November 2025, the strike force focuses on crypto-linked fraud and scam operations in Southeast Asia. The campaign also led federal authorities to seize 503 fake investment websites.
