BitGo Chief Operating Officer Jody Mettler said the tokenized securities industry should prepare proactively for regulatory shifts, arguing that major changes in finance often come before significant changes in regulation.

Mettler pointed to recent moves by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) as a signal for the industry to adapt and prepare for greater scrutiny.

The Sept. 17 SEC exemption for tokenized securities venues lets eligible platforms use restricted-access automated market-making systems or liquidity pools for certain tokenized NMS shares, within operating conditions and asset limits.
