Latvia Minister Says RWA Rules Could Be Ready in First Half of 2027
Commercial real estate may be among the first areas covered, while Latvian government bonds are a tokenization priority.

Economics Minister Viktors Valainis said Latvia’s proposed rules for real-world asset (RWA) tokenization could be ready in the first half of 2027 if work proceeds smoothly. The framework is intended to attract investment, and commercial real estate may be among the first areas it covers.
Valainis identified Latvian government bonds as a priority for tokenization. He also described the first half of 2027 as a tentative window for tokenizing bonds and real estate once rules are in place.
A legal assessment that was due Oct. 1 remains underway.
