Iran may restrict natural gas supplies to major consumers this winter, First Vice President Mohammadreza Aref warned Monday, citing the need to keep the national network stable as cold weather approaches.

Aref said a stable network during the cold months would help maintain service to cold and remote regions.

Over the weekend, lawmaker Hosseinali Haji Deligani urged Parliament to advance impeachment proceedings against Iran’s foreign and agriculture ministers, blaming them for rising food prices. Iranian leaders are divided over how to end the war with the United States. In an Oct. 21 post on X, President Masoud Pezeshkian said dialogue would require an end to sanctions and threats.
