CFTC Working to Publish COT Report Twice Weekly by Year-End
The report currently comes out on Fridays. The plan responds to demand from the agriculture sector.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is working to publish its trader-position report twice a week by year-end, a schedule the agency's chairman linked to demand from agriculture participants.
The COT report currently comes out every Friday and records buying and selling positions in commodity markets. It separates commercial traders from hedge funds and other asset managers.
Producers use the report to inform hedging decisions. Speculative traders watch for changes in positions and whether bets are becoming concentrated.
The CFTC chairman described the proposal last week at an agriculture commodity futures conference in Kansas.
