Anthropic Warns Trump Administration Pressure Is an IPO Risk
The company said its AI safety advocacy and executives’ remarks could draw pressure, while rules it supports could also raise costs and slow development.

Anthropic warned that its public advocacy for AI safety rules and executives’ remarks could expose the company to pressure from the Trump administration.
The company said certain Trump administration departments could target it even if similar companies receive different treatment. It tied the risk to disputes over safeguards for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) use of its AI technology and disagreements over the safety of the Mythos model and export controls.
Anthropic also warned that future export restrictions or cybersecurity or biological safety incidents involving AI models could affect product deployment, international expansion and growth.
Regulations the company supports could raise compliance costs, limit product development and releases, and slow its growth.
