Judge Leaves Eaton Fire Owners’ Claims Against Southern California Edison Intact

Southern California Edison failed Tuesday to persuade a California Superior Court judge that a California law left property owners without recourse for damage from the 2025 Eaton Fire.

The judge’s rejection leaves the owners’ claims against the utility in place. The property owners suffered losses worth billions of dollars in the fire.
