Googly Says Tax Error Led to French Home Invasion Over 660 BTC
Googly said the father held 0.066 BTC; two members of the group were sentenced Oct. 16 to three years and 18 months in prison.

Plasma builder Googly said a mistake on a French tax return and a leak of related information preceded an attack on a family whose father was believed to hold 660 Bitcoin (BTC).
Masked men entered the home in Juilly, in the Seine-et-Marne department, on Feb. 6. They beat the father in front of his wife and 20-year-old daughter and demanded access to his crypto wallet.
Googly said the father held 0.066 BTC. The first wallet the attackers checked contained $3,000, while two other accounts held nearly €7,000 combined.
Googly linked the attackers’ belief that the father had 660 BTC to the tax-return error and information leak. Two members of the group were sentenced Oct. 16 to prison terms of three years and 18 months.
