The Digital Chamber is urging Congress to place U.S. digital asset exchanges under Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) oversight, adding cybersecurity standards it says would protect customer assets.

The group wants lawmakers to pass legislation before the 119th Congress concludes. Its proposal calls for baseline cybersecurity standards alongside CFTC oversight of U.S. exchanges.

The CFTC oversees U.S. futures and options markets, including those tied to digital assets. The Digital Chamber has also backed clearer trading rules for tokens recognized as non-security assets.
