FTX Allowed-Claim Holders May Forfeit Claim-Linked Payouts After Six Months

Six calendar months from the July 31, 2026, distribution date falls on Jan. 31, 2027. The July payment had a separate June 16 record-date cutoff.

The FTX Recovery Trust warned holders of Allowed Claims they may forfeit distributions tied to the relevant claim and payment dates if they do not onboard with a provider within six months. The period from the July 31, 2026, distribution date calculates to Jan. 31, 2027.

The warning concerns distributions associated with the relevant claim and dates. The Trust said holders who fail to complete provider onboarding within six months “may forfeit their right to receive distributions on their Allowed Claim(s).” BitGo, Kraken and Payoneer were named as providers for the fifth distribution.

That onboarding period is separate from the requirements for receiving the July payment. Claimants had to complete KYC, submit a valid tax form, onboard with a provider and pass sanctions screening by the June 16 record date. Those who missed the requirements did not receive a July 31 payment.

The fifth distribution was estimated at about $900 million. A later accounting recorded $908 million in funds sent to providers and direct payments, but some transfers could be undeliverable, so that figure is not a confirmed final delivered total.

FTX also announced an additional 5% distribution for Class 5B U.S. Customer Entitlement Claims, bringing cumulative distributions to 105%.
