Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) plans a cybersecurity framework for licensed institutions, with additional requirements for higher-risk firms to strengthen defenses against threats driven by artificial intelligence.

At Hong Kong FinTech Week 2026, Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission Chief Executive 梁凤仪 discussed the plan and described Hong Kong institutions as leaders in tokenization. She said tokenization needs to bring tangible economic benefits to markets for adoption to scale.
