Animoca Brands' Abu Dhabi Unit Wins Fund Management Permission
The permission took effect Oct. 13 and bars the subsidiary from serving retail clients or holding or controlling client assets.

On Nov. 2, Animoca Brands announced that its ADGM arm, Animoca Asset Management (AD) Limited, had secured authorization for collective fund management.
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of ADGM granted the permission, which took effect Oct. 13, 2026. The authorization covers fund management, but the subsidiary cannot deal with retail clients or hold or control client assets.
The subsidiary’s permitted activity is managing a collective investment fund. The permission follows in-principle approval that Animoca Brands announced Nov. 24, 2025. That earlier clearance was conditional on meeting requirements and receiving final regulatory approval.
ADGM had 190 fund and asset managers in the first half of 2026, up 23% from 154 in the same period a year earlier. The FSRA granted 45 new Financial Services Permissions during the first half.
“Securing the Financial Services Permission from ADGM’s FSRA is a critical milestone for our operations in the Middle East,” said Minh Do, senior executive officer and director of Animoca Asset Management.
