Thailand SEC Plans to Block Bitget Website and App on Dec. 5
The regulator filed a criminal complaint against BG Limited, Bitget’s operator, alleging it ran a digital asset exchange in Thailand without a license.

Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission plans to block access to Bitget’s website and app on Dec. 5 after filing a criminal complaint against the exchange’s operator over alleged unlicensed activity in the country.
On Thursday, Nov. 5, the SEC announced that it had filed the complaint against BG Limited, Bitget’s operator. The regulator accused the company of operating a digital asset exchange in Thailand without a license.
The complaint names BG Limited, while the planned access restriction applies to Bitget’s website and app. Both actions concern the exchange’s digital asset services in Thailand and the country’s licensing requirements for those services.
The case combines an enforcement complaint against Bitget’s operator with a planned block of the exchange’s online services. The SEC’s allegation centers on whether BG Limited had authorization to run a digital asset exchange in Thailand. The announced block is scheduled for Dec. 5.
