Thailand’s SEC Seeks Dec. 5 Bitget Block Over Unlicensed Activity
The regulator filed a criminal complaint against Bitget’s platform provider and a person it accused of promoting the exchange in Thailand.

Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has asked the government to block Bitget on Dec. 5 after filing a criminal complaint over alleged unlicensed exchange activity in the country.
The SEC filed the complaint Nov. 5 against BG Limited, Bitget’s platform provider, and Kritsana Kritsananuwat, whom it accused of promoting the exchange. The complaint will proceed through an inquiry, prosecutor review and court proceedings; it is not a finding of guilt.
The SEC’s allegations cover 2022 through 2025. It says Bitget offered a trading system, charged fees and operated a Thai-language website displaying values in Thai baht. The regulator also cited Thai-language promotional channels on X, Telegram and TikTok, as well as Facebook and YouTube pages it linked to Kritsana.
The SEC notified Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to block Bitget’s website, other domains and app effective Dec. 5. The regulator did not specify a start time for the access restriction.
