A three-month waiver of the requirement for securities firms to maintain a 140% collateral ratio for credit financing was proposed at South Korea’s emergency market review meeting Friday, Nov. 6. The proposal would suspend the requirement for three months.

South Korea’s deputy prime minister and finance and economy minister chaired the meeting. The meeting said additional market-stabilization measures would be taken if stock-market volatility widened.
