Hong Kong’s tokenization infrastructure advanced as the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said EnsembleTX reached a stage enabling 24/7 real-value transactions.

The authority announced the update during Hong Kong FinTech Week 2026 on Nov. 2. At the event, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) also discussed the scale of its authorized tokenized retail products.

As of September 2026, assets under management for the 17 SFC-authorized products totaled $1.3 billion, 34% more than a year earlier. The products include money market funds, gold products and exchange-traded funds. The $1.3 billion figure covers assets under management for those 17 products.

The SFC also described its approval for secondary trading of tokenized money market funds on licensed platforms. Its Nov. 2 remarks referred to that existing approval, not a new decision.
