Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a criminal complaint against Bitget operator BG Limited and set Dec. 5 as the start date for blocking access to the exchange.

The regulator notified the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to block Bitget's website, other domains and app on that date. The planned restrictions target the platform's web and mobile access for users in Thailand.

Thailand's SEC alleges BG Limited supplied trading services to Thai users from 2022 through 2025 and collected fees. It says the service had a Thai-language website, displayed prices in Thai baht and was promoted on social media. The SEC's complaint centers on alleged operation of a digital asset exchange without a license under Thailand's Digital Asset Business Emergency Decree.

A person who promoted Bitget through Facebook and YouTube was also included in the complaint. The regulator urged users to make arrangements for any assets they hold on the platform before access is blocked Dec. 5.
