Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer pressed Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng on Friday, Nov. 6, to deliver on commitments made in Busan, with some U.S. tariff exclusions for Chinese products set to expire Monday night.

Bessent linked further progress to concrete results and said the United States would closely assess China’s implementation. He also raised concerns about recent Chinese actions.

Greer focused on agricultural purchases, rare earths and other critical minerals during the call. The discussion comes amid a broader U.S.-China trade truce that preserved a lower-tariff framework and included a push for Chinese purchases of U.S. agricultural products.

Some U.S. tariff exclusions for Chinese products are scheduled to end at 11:59 p.m. ET Monday, Nov. 9. The deadline applies to the exclusions covered by the current notice.
