IBM Lists Hedera-Based IDTrust for Enterprise AI Agent Identity

The Hashgraph Group’s IDTrust identity platform is listed in the IBM Cloud Catalog, giving enterprise customers a procurement route for software designed to verify artificial intelligence agents, devices and people.

The Hashgraph Group said in its announcement that IBM validated and listed IDTrust. IBM’s partner directory lists the solution but includes a general disclaimer that company and solution information is not independently validated unless otherwise noted.

IDTrust uses decentralized identifiers and verifiable credentials to establish identities and permissions. The credentials are anchored on Hedera’s distributed ledger, creating a record for organizations to use when software agents act on their behalf.

IBM’s directory lists IDTrust as supporting software-as-a-service and on-premises deployments. It identifies The Hashgraph Group as the provider, lists Hedera distributed-ledger technology as part of the solution and includes the United States among its supported markets.

The Hashgraph Group also said it qualified for IBM Silver Partner status and signed a global Embedded Solution Agreement covering IBM Cloud and artificial intelligence technology. IDTrust includes MCP servers for agents connected to IBM watsonx Orchestrate.

“Enterprises are deploying AI agents at scale that can negotiate contracts, process sensitive data, and execute financial transactions autonomously,” Stefan Deiss, co-founder and CEO of The Hashgraph Group, said.

The company launched IDTrust on Aug. 1, 2025. Its platform uses decentralized identifiers, verifiable credentials, the Hedera Consensus Service, IPFS, OpenID4VCI and OpenID4VP.

The Hashgraph Group said IBM has been a member of the Hedera Governing Council since 2019. The catalog listing places a Hedera-based application in IBM’s cloud procurement channel as businesses assess how autonomous software should be identified and authorized.

The announcement is dated Sept. 22-23, and it did not provide customer, revenue, pricing or deployment figures for IDTrust.
