FBI Jobs Site Displays ShinyHunters Takeover Message, Then Goes Offline
The recruitment portal was altered on the evening of Sept. 21 before the FBI took it offline and displayed a maintenance notice.
The FBI’s online recruitment portal displayed a message claiming ShinyHunters had taken control before the bureau took the site offline for maintenance, marking a disruption to a federal hiring system.
The alteration occurred on the evening of Sept. 21 at apply.fbijobs.gov. The page was replaced with a notice stating that the site had been taken over by ShinyHunters.
The FBI later removed the recruitment website from public access. Visitors instead saw a maintenance message.
