SlowMist CISO 23pds made the clarification on Sept. 23, distinguishing the reported malicious software from FOMO’s official application. The distinction is important for crypto users who may have treated the two apps as the same product.
The reported affected versions were available through Apple’s App Store from Sept. 9 to Sept. 17. The clarification identifies FOMOPeek as the app connected to the malware report and removes the official FOMO iOS app from that description.
Crypto users should verify the app name before assessing whether the report applies to software installed on their devices.
