Three Founders Fund partners — Sean Liu, John Luttig and Joey Krug — visited technology companies in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen in August. Founders Fund is associated with Peter Thiel.
The visits come after a sharp decline in U.S. venture capital investment in Chinese startups in recent years. Interest has nevertheless picked up around Chinese AI companies, particularly DeepSeek, whose growing technology influence has drawn renewed attention from some U.S. investors.
