Bybit Supports Avalanche Upgrade With AVAX Deposit, Withdrawal Halt
AVAX and Avalanche C-Chain deposits and withdrawals were scheduled to pause at 10:30 a.m. ET on Sept. 22, while trading remained available.
Bybit scheduled suspensions of Avalanche (AVAX) and Avalanche C-Chain deposits and withdrawals around the network’s Helicon upgrade, while keeping trading available during the transition.
Avalanche’s v1.15.0 upgrade was scheduled to activate on Mainnet at 11 a.m. ET (3 p.m. UTC) Sept. 22. Bybit set the deposit and withdrawal halt to begin at 10:30 a.m. ET (2:30 p.m. UTC), 30 minutes before activation.
The exchange’s support covers AVAX and Avalanche C-Chain services. Trading remained available during the suspension.
Helicon requires Mainnet nodes running AvalancheGo, the software used to operate Avalanche nodes, to upgrade before activation. AvalancheGo v1.15.0 updated the plugin version to 46 and requires all plugins to update for compatibility.
The upgrade activates several changes to the network. These include asynchronous execution on the C-Chain, automatically renewed staking, higher validator uptime requirements and a dynamic minimum gas price for the C-Chain.
The suspension schedule covered deposits and withdrawals during the upgrade process. No specific restoration time was provided, and no separate resumption announcement was planned.
