Tron’s weekly transaction count recently approached 100 million as stablecoin transfers expanded across the network, reinforcing its role in digital payments infrastructure.

Weekly stablecoin transfer volume was estimated at $150 billion to $190 billion, while on-chain fees were about $0.07. Tron’s activity has increasingly centered on stablecoin settlement, particularly transfers involving Tether’s USDT.

From April through June, Tron processed 1.1 billion total transactions, a 12% increase from the previous quarter. Stablecoin settlement volume reached $2.08 trillion, while stablecoin supply stood at approximately $89 billion.

The network also had 16.4 million active addresses and generated $722 million in protocol revenue during the quarter. Its delegated proof-of-stake system uses 27 elected Super Representatives to produce blocks and validate transactions.

Josh Olszewicz of Canary Capital said, “Tron has become the settlement layer for a large share of the world's USDT.”

Tron began as a general-purpose blockchain but is now heavily used for stablecoin payments and value transfers. Its transaction model uses bandwidth and energy resources, which users can obtain by staking TRX or pay for with the token.

The growth is concentrated in payments and value transfers rather than solely in decentralized-application activity. Low fees and high throughput are central to Tron’s appeal for cross-border transfers and other stablecoin payments.

U.S. rules governing stablecoin issuers, reserves and permitted payment tokens may shape which assets circulate on networks such as Tron. Tron’s stablecoin market capitalization also grew by $4.8 billion over three months.
