Duelbits Goes Offline After Attackers Drain About $7 Million
The crypto casino said it is investigating the hack and will remain offline until its hot wallets are refilled.
Crypto casino Duelbits took its website offline Sept. 24 after a hack drained about $7 million from hot wallets across four blockchains, disrupting operations while the platform investigates.
The stolen assets were taken from wallets tied to Ethereum, BNB Chain, Tron and Bitcoin. Most of the funds were converted into Ether (ETH) and consolidated in a single Ethereum address holding about 2,234 ETH, valued at roughly $6 million at the time. The balance had not moved.
Duelbits co-founder Joe confirmed the hack and said the platform was still determining what happened. “Confirming a ~$7M hack. Still investigating exactly what happened and how,” Joe said.
Duelbits said it would remain offline while the investigation continued and until its hot wallets were refilled. Hot wallets stay connected to systems that approve blockchain transactions, making them easier to use than offline storage but more exposed to attacks.
