SpaceX Filing Details Phased Colossus 2 Expansion
Colossus 2 had 110,000 GB200 and 110,000 GB300 processors online as of June 5, while a later estimate projects 612,200 B300 GPUs in the first quarter of 2027.
SpaceX’s June 5, 2026 prospectus does not establish a plan for 660,000 GB300 processors at Colossus 2 by year-end, although it details a major expansion of the artificial intelligence data center.
The facility had brought online about 110,000 GB200 processors and 110,000 GB300 processors. Once fully operational, the next expansion phase is expected to bring online at least 220,000 additional GB300 processors and more than 400 additional megawatts of compute power.
The prospectus does not set a December 2026 deadline for that expansion. It also states that the second Colossus 2 cluster, containing 110,000 GB300 processors and 220 megawatts of compute power, was brought online in 64 days.
Colossus 2 is an AI training data center associated with Elon Musk’s AI operations in the Memphis area. Colossus and Colossus 2 together are described as providing about one gigawatt of compute power.
An independent estimate places the site’s current capacity at 440,000 GPUs, including 330,000 Nvidia B300 GPUs and 110,000 B200 GPUs. The estimate projects 612,200 B300 GPUs and 722,200 total GPUs at Colossus 2 in the first quarter of 2027.
Current computing capacity is estimated at 1.112 million H100-equivalent units, supported by 946 megawatts of IT power. For the first quarter of 2027, the estimate projects 1.824 million H100-equivalent units and 1,531 megawatts of IT power.
The prospectus uses the term “GB300 processors,” while the estimate uses “B300 GPUs.” The available figures do not establish whether those terms describe the same hardware configuration.
At xAI’s Paul Lowry Road site in Memphis, 150 megawatts was energized as of May 5, 2025, with another 150 megawatts requested. No final power request had been submitted for the nearby Tulane Road site.
The available disclosures therefore support a phased expansion at Colossus 2 but do not confirm that the facility will reach 660,000 GB300 processors by the end of 2026.
