Yuga Labs recovered 23,155 NFTs valued at more than $5.7 million after a vulnerability in Payment Processor V2 exposed assets across several collections Sept. 25.

An exploiter used the flaw to take 10 Meebits, 50 Otherdeeds, 10 WoW and 235 Desperate Apewives. The incident was discovered 12 hours later, when the team found that many more NFTs were exposed to the same vulnerability.

Yuga Labs worked with LimitBreak to urgently pause Payment Processor V3 contracts containing the same weakness. A white-hat response then secured vulnerable V2 assets that could not be paused, along with related assets on ApeChain.

The teams also found that the vulnerability could be used to take Wrapped Ether (WETH). About 660 WETH was at risk, but those funds were not recovered.

The affected NFTs have been transferred to safety. Holders can reclaim them after revoking approvals connected to the vulnerable contracts.
