Bitget Raises Hack Losses to $388 Million After Multichain Review
The revised total includes previously omitted assets linked to Zcash and Tron. Withdrawals remain suspended while Bitget runs a bounty program to help recover funds.

Bitget has raised its estimated losses from a major hack to $387.5 million, or about $388 million, after adding assets linked to Zcash and Tron to its calculation.
The revised figure is roughly $35 million higher than the $352 million estimate released Thursday. Bitget said its updated accounting reflects a more complete review of transfers to wallets controlled by the attackers.
The affected networks include Ethereum Virtual Machine chains, XRP Ledger, Zcash and Tron. The listed assets include XRP, Ether (ETH), Tether’s USDt, Zcash (ZEC), USD Coin (USDC), USDT0, Tether Gold (XAUt), BNB, Avalanche (AVAX) and TRON (TRX).
Bitget said withdrawals remain suspended and that the incident is under control, with no further unauthorized transfers. It has also launched a bounty program to encourage efforts to freeze or recover the stolen funds.
The revised loss makes the incident one of the largest exchange security breaches in the crypto industry, although it remains below the roughly $1.5 billion in Ether stolen from Bybit in February 2025.
