The United States and China agreed to hold their next artificial intelligence dialogue by the end of November, extending discussions on AI risks and benefits while creating a channel for incidents involving the technology.
The first dialogue took place during the eighth round of economic and trade consultations between the two countries. The mechanism is led by Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
The countries also agreed to establish a communication channel for artificial intelligence incidents, adding a direct process for addressing events involving the technology.
The next dialogue is scheduled to take place by the end of November.
