Zano Rolls Back a Month of Blockchain History After Vulnerability
The privacy blockchain restarted at block 3,833,000, before Hard Fork 6, after unauthorized ZANO and fUSD entered circulation.
Zano has restarted its blockchain from block height 3,833,000 after a Gateway Address vulnerability enabled unauthorized Zano (ZANO) and fUSD to enter circulation, removing roughly one month of chain history from the recovered network.
The restart occurred immediately before Hard Fork 6, which activated on Aug. 26. Transactions confirmed during the affected period are not part of the recovered chain.
Zano said the incident did not compromise wallet spend keys, ordinary transaction privacy or the network’s core consensus.
The team is working with affected projects and counterparties to assess losses. It plans to publish a reimbursement and claims process as the recovery continues.
