ENS Labs, GLEIF Explore Verifiable Identity Links for ENS Domains

ENS Labs and the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation are exploring a way to link Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domains with verifiable credentials so applications can confirm the institutions behind on-chain identities.
The proposed framework would connect ENS domains with verifiable Legal Entity Identifier credentials, known as vLEIs. The credentials are designed to provide a verifiable link between an organization and its digital identifier.
GLEIF is drafting a general framework for connecting external identifiers, including ENS domains, with vLEIs. The specific implementation for ENS would be determined through an ENS Improvement Proposal, or ENSIP.
GLEIF would continue to oversee the issuance, governance and verification of vLEI credentials under the framework.
The scheme remains under development.
