Circle froze about $201,000 in cryptocurrency linked to the Bitget theft after coordinating with independent investigator tanuki42, leaving the funds stranded between Noble and Ethereum.

The wallet attempted to move the assets between an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) network and Noble. One transfer from Noble through Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) reached the system’s quota and entered a pending state.

Circle blacklisted the target address before the quota reset, preventing the transfer from completing. The funds remain stranded between Noble and the Ethereum network.

The action follows Circle’s earlier freeze of about $318,000 linked to the Bitget breach. Most of the roughly $351.6 million in affected assets remained in Ether (ETH), which stablecoin issuers cannot block.

Bitget’s cold wallets were unaffected, and its User Protection Fund held more than $464 million.
