Ethlabs Links Ethereum Fast Confirmation Rules to Chainlink CCIP 2.0
The optional pathway could reduce confirmation times in certain cross-chain transactions from about 13 minutes to 12–24 seconds without changing Ethereum’s protocol-level finality.

Ethlabs integrated Ethereum Fast Confirmation Rules, or FCR, with Chainlink’s CCIP 2.0, adding an optional pathway that could reduce Ethereum confirmation times in certain cross-chain transactions.
The system uses validator consensus to provide an early confirmation signal. In applicable scenarios, confirmation times could fall from about 13 minutes to 12–24 seconds.
FCR operates at the client level and does not require a hard fork. It uses validator attestations and assumptions about network synchronization to produce the early signal without adding new infrastructure or economic assumptions.
The faster signal does not reduce Ethereum’s protocol-level finality. CCIP can continue waiting for complete finality on the source chain, while the faster route remains optional. Other steps in cross-chain execution may still require additional time.
The integration adds the option to use faster confirmations within Chainlink’s CCIP 2.0 cross-chain infrastructure, which also includes configurable confirmation thresholds and optional cross-chain verifiers.
