Metaplex Introduces MPL-3643 for Tokenized Securities on Solana
The framework targets permissioned real-world assets with onchain eligibility, jurisdiction and transfer controls. It remains in limited-access alpha.

Metaplex has introduced MPL-3643, a Solana token standard for permissioned real-world assets and tokenized securities that embeds eligibility and transfer controls into the onchain process.
The framework is designed to enforce investor eligibility checks, jurisdictional restrictions, lockup periods and transfer restrictions onchain. MPL-3643 remains in limited-access alpha.
The standard uses Solana’s Token-2022 program, Solana Attestation Service and sRFC 37. Investor verifications can be reused across offerings through integrations with identity services, allowing compliance checks to support multiple tokenized products.
MPL-3643 is designed to connect regulated assets with existing Solana wallets and trading venues. Named launch integrations include Orca, Raydium, Jupiter, Phantom and Solflare.
The framework is modeled on Ethereum’s ERC-3643 permissioned-token standard. Its compliance rules are intended to operate as part of the token-transfer process rather than relying entirely on separate off-chain procedures.
MPL-3643 does not establish that an issuer or asset satisfies any specific U.S. securities-law or regulatory requirement. No issuers or assets using the standard have been identified.
Metaplex launched in August 2021. The protocol has supported more than 20 million non-fungible tokens and more than $3.5 billion in primary and secondary sales. Those figures describe Metaplex’s broader activity and are not specific to MPL-3643.
